May 2012 "QUICK BYTES" ...news and info for all members.
- A Member made a request for a link to a couple of important pages on the OLD WEB Site...those links are now "UP and LIVE" on the "LINKS" page, on the right side column under "additional resources".
- Brett Starling was named as the "ACTING" Engineers Local Chairman. Brett is VERY sharpe and with Chris Madera as the "ACTING" Vice-Local Chairman engineer members are in GREAT hands!
- General Chairman Jay Smith attended the May meeting and believed his tie breaking "YES" vote for the "NEW PL agreement" was the "RIGHT VOTE"!( A position UTU LOCALS 1846 & 1813 STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH)
- Hours of service change takes place on May 29, 2012. Currently "calender days" are used in the formula. The pending change will NO LONGER use "calender days" in the formula but will use a formula based upon periods of "24 hours" of time. This change is to the benefit of us railworkers!
